Here is a hot process recipe for you
to try! It comes to you from Diane of Indulgent Body
& Bath. We were talking about the
pomegranate oil she had bought and the soap she made with it.
Diane was kind enough to provide the recipe and let me post
it here for you to test out. Here's what she had to say:
So on to the recipe - I was out of
olive oil, didn't
feel like going to the store and decided to use what I
had on hand. I turned to some of my favorite oils for
skin conditioning: apricot kernel, evening primrose,
macadamia nut, and sunflower oils. I learned from the
other experiments with pomegranate oil, that it is a heavier
smelling oil and that also follows through to after
the process - that's why I chose to use a fragrance
oil - it's easy to get pomegranate fragrance oil.

Pomegranate Beauty Bar Directions
The process is the same as normal
for
making soap. I
processed this as
a crockpot hot process to get more of a benefit of
the pomegranate
juice & oil (or so I feel anyway). After the cook,
remove from the heat and add 2 Tbsp pomegranate juice
concentrate, 2 ounces pomegranate oil, and 2 ounces
pomegranate FO incorporating thoroughly after each
addition. I prefer lighter, more subtle scents. I
am
sure you could go heavier with the FO.
Put in mold
and let sit for 24 hours. Unmold, and cut. You can
use
the soap right away, but the longer it stays out to
dry, the harder and better the bars get. I suggest a
dry of at least 2-3 weeks.
Thanks to Diane for
providing this
recipe!

Note: You can use this
soap right away only because of the hot process method. Do
not do this if you use this recipe with the cold process.
